Which language would you choose if you were an Android app developer?
java doesn't have type inference? so disappointing. people should know what they can expect from a language, so these garbage languages would die out
kotlin will be better for android development but java will still remain popular for its other uses

Your eyes are stoned XDXDXD <3
lets go baby lets go Kotlin
java gang
Write in plain English what is needed and let Android chooses how it wants to convert (Java, Kotlin, Gootlin, Puffin etc).
I remember that similar situation with Coldfusion (buyed for Adobe). ColdFusion were the future, but died, and Java, is live….. Why program in something that run in Java if I can program directly in java?
Learn both
IMO Google will end Java support in the next 5 years for developing app for Android. They're pushing Kotlin so hard.
flutter is better than these two
Deno is beter for everything .
Personally, i think every Android developer should move on to Kotlin. There's no point sticking with Java for Android. Eventually, Java will be phased out of Android development. Might as well be prepared for the inevitable.
Kotlin or react native for someone looking to become an Android developer? There is so much information out there that it is immensely overwhelming what route to take. I have experience with Javascript and React, but I have no idea what is the correct route to tske?
I thought I was resourceful but lately could not find a place to direct youngsters for Java mobile development. I could only see Kotlin and flutter from the old places I was familiar with.
whats your take on flutter. should we just move to flutter since its cross platform
i love java
Thanks for explaining with proper reasons.
The funniest part is that a simple AP connection from an android app is a Daunting task.
Kotlin is a fork of Java. Both interoperate as both compile to class files and Kotlin uses the Java runtime. Note that Java continued to evolve after the fork and some of the newer features, like the stream API, are actually implemented in a more mature way than Kotlin, esp. if you run on many cores. While Kotlin has a slight edge today, that could reverse with some of the future enhancements planned for Java, esp. under the hood. Kotlin and Java in tandem are a great thing as they keep pushing themselves ahead and stay relevant against languages like Python, Julia, Go, Rust. Reminds me of Fortran which keeps coming back 😉
kotlin is much more easy if you're already known java, you can learn
only in 2 hrs or less than one hour
to read W3School theory and practice and also build one simple project!!

this is not fair ofcourse, you start talking down to java and not all your .property is simpler, i have seeb much more init needed in your new class, simple is better than adding fat requirements.
def Kotlin
dont forget that google kills everything. kotlin could come and go just as easy
can you share the resources where we can learn native app development i found that most of the resources out there are outdated
You haven't done any Kotlin. What makes you qualified to even talk about this? You guys just like to see yourselves on YouTube?
okay…alright… fair enough… BUT now, I want your take in this —> "Kotlin vs Flutter"
Kotlin has some sexy features and Java for Android seems to be dead in the water. So looking forward to migrating to Kotlin.
U can use var x = 10 in Java too
man it must have been great when there was just a handfull of languages. its a mess.
Thought you were just a memer. You actually know what you're talking about. Very interesting, I subbed.
