Hmmmm… trouble is, it didn't actually break in half in that fashion (breaking 'up' in the centre, with head and stern both down). Undersea examination of the remnants of the double-bottom evidence that the fracture point was 'down'. The stern section fell back to float briefly before it then became submerged from the leading end (which accounted for a lot of the bunker coal that litters the seabed even today) and sank stern up (as imagined in the most recent Hollywood movie).

After learning a lot of facts about the sinking and the circumstamces, it amazes me how the crew and the captain edward smith as well as a lot of passengers handeled the situation in the right state of mind, while facing their own deaths therefore, putting all their efforts in rescuing as many lives as possible before going down with the ship themselves

>1.0-The design flaws: 1-the rivets were not strong enough being of iron instead of steel or even steel-iron, 2-the center propeller runs off the turbine so it cannot be reversed, 3-the two outer propellers turn in opposite direction to each other (the animation is incorrect on this point), 4-the rudder was totally inadequate in size and the amount of the rudder in the water was too small, 5-using three propeller design instead of four made it difficult to turn the ship quickly, 6-the bulkheads were designed lower in the hull so that the elite could have a walk-around promenade, 7-according to surviving coal workers from the ship there was a coal fire simmering when the ship left port thus weakening the hull crossmembers, 8-the bulkhead design was focused on a head on collision instead of a glancing blow, 9-not enough lifeboats and most left without being full of passengers,
>2.0-Other facts: 10-the Titanic could have made it to the ship ten miles away in about thirty minutes from where it was after hitting the iceberg, 11-there was a temperature inversion thus concealing the iceberg from human vision and the lookouts had no binoculars.
